Valentine's Day

I took quite a long "cookie break" as I've been helping out at a quilting shop lately...so no time for baking.  :-(  I did manage to squeeze in some Valentine cookies though, so the kiddos would have something to share with their friends.  I also gave away a dozen in a drawing among my facebook friends.

A lot of hearts - in different styles.

I put a bunch of the mini XOXO cookies in a jar and gave to a friend.  I liked this idea so much that I think it will be added to the cookie order form (forgot to take a pic though).

Holiday Cookies

Winter themed cookies.  I felt a little rushed with all of the holiday activities, so these didn't turn out the way I had them planned in my head.  These were bagged up as school employee gifts I believe.  Thanks Christi!

Chinese Gotcha Day Cookies

Gold/red Chinese coins with the words "daughter" and "five" written on them.  Also added in some Asian fans, and a few squiggly bites.  Thanks for the order Tanya!  Happy Gotcha day!

Golf Cookies

Golf themed cookies.  Thanks for the order Sharon!

Sock Monkey Cookies

Sock monkey cookies for a 1-year-old's birthday party.  I just love these little guys!  I pretty much copied them from Sugarbelle's monkeys, so thanks for the inspiration SB!  Thanks for the order Jennifer!

Apples - Again

More apples!  This time they were for a Snow White birthday party, and were bagged as favors.  Thanks for the order Haley!

Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty cookies for a little girl's birthday party.  Dough was tinted light pink.  Thanks for the order Katie!

Softballs

Softball cookies for a little girl's team.  I never knew softballs were yellow though.  :-)  Some cookies had players' names and were bagged as favors.  Thanks for the order David!

Pumpkin Cookies

Pumpkin shaped cookies for teachers' meal during parent/teacher conferences.

Girly Cookies

High heels and lipsticks for a homecoming party.

The larger shoes were 6" long!

Chick Cookies

These were such fun cookies to make!  Love the color scheme.  Little chicks for an adorable 3-year-old's birthday.  I also added in some flowers that matched the invitation.  Thanks for the order Laurel!

Football Cookies

Football and field goal themed cookies.

13th Birthday

Cookies for a boy's 13th birthday - simple shapes with #13 on them, as well as cookies spelling out the birthday boy's name.  Thanks for the order Missi!

More School Cookies

A few more school themed cookies - this batch for a teacher's lunch.  Apples, notebook paper, and those cute little worms.

Coffee Cookies

Coffee themed cookies for a church ladies' retreat.  I tossed in a few flower shaped cookies as well.  Thanks for the order Theresa!

Chinese coins

To celebrate my daughter's 9th "Gotcha day" (aka adoption day), I made Chinese coin cookies.  I remembered that Sugarbelle had made coin cookies awhile back, so I decided to make my cookies similar to hers (similar being the key word).  Although I wasn't thrilled with the outcome (my family says I'm too critical), they served the occasion well.
In my best Chinese handwriting :-) I wrote the word "daughter", and the number "9" on the cookies.

For the Choir

I wanted to try a new a new chocolate cookie recipe and asked the family what shape they'd like.  The husband asked that I make music note cookies so he could take them to our church choir party.  I was happy with the way the cookies "looked", but didn't love the taste...although it does seem that the cookies taste better a few days later (like fudgy brownies).  Will continue to tweak that recipe a bit before it goes on the availability list.  :-)

Back To School

Back to School Cookies ordered by a teaching intern.  I was surprised to find that I don't own an apple cookie cutter, so had to make my own pattern and cut out with a knife.  Pencils were also hand cut.  Loving the little caterpillars!  Thanks for the order Chelsea!

Elephant Baby Shower

These cookies were for a baby girl shower.  Love the little elephants!  There were 4 basic designs (elephant, baby bottle, zebra squares, baby face), but I also added in some cute little feet and a large "welcome baby" cookie.  I had to ship this order of 4 dozen cookies to PA.  I was SO relieved to hear that they arrived unbroken!  Whew!

Flip Flop Cookies

My daughter asked for flip flop cookies for her birthday swim party, so that's what she got!  Yes, these are the same color scheme as the baby shower cookies.  I figured that since I had icing already colored and ready to go, why not use it?  Luckily, my daughter was very happy with the colors.  :-)  My daughter really likes animal print, so I did that on several cookies.  As usual, I forgot to take pics BEFORE the cookies were bagged.  :-(  (must get better at remembering to take pics!)
