I forgot to take a photo of the entire tray of cookies before we left for the beach. This is a few of the beachy-themed goodies that were devoured during our stay at the beach with friends. (yes, I know the cross isn't beachy, but it fit some of the people we were with!) My girls even got in on the action and decorated a few of these cookies.

Birthday Cookies
A fellow adoptive mom ordered cookies for her dd's 8th birthday. I needed to deliver these a few days early since we were headed out for a beach vacation. I also decided to make some beach cookies to take along on our vacation. I planned everything so that I could finish the cookies and deliver the day before our vacation. All went well until the night before. For some reason, I decided to put the birthday cookies on a different type of cookie sheet than I normally use. When I went to move one sheet of cookies, I found that all of the birthday cookies were STUCK to the bottom of the other pan, and the icing was completely ruined! I was sick! Luckily, I had several extras from the beach cookie set that I was able to add to her order. Lesson learned...always use my normal cookie sheets with the deep sides! (Thanks for the order April!)
Cheer Cookies #2
A friend at church saw photos of the cheer cookies I made for my daughter, and asked that I make some for her daughter's cheer team. I searched online for their mascot and found an image I thought would work (a "mountie"...looks like a hillbilly). (Thanks for the order Connie!)

Wedding Shower Cookies
I was asked to make cookies for a wedding shower...with only 3 days notice. I agreed, but said the cookies would have to be very simple as I wouldn't have much time to make them. I went with simple hearts turned into a bride/groom. (Thanks for the order Sharon!)

Is it a Boy or Girl?
An order to make 2 dozen onesie cookies for a baby announcement. The only issue was that the new parents-to-be needed the cookies just hours after they found out the sex of their baby. Since my icing needs to dry overnight, this meant I had to make 4 dozen total (2 for a girl; 2 for a boy), and would bag them up as soon as I got the call from the parents. It's a BOY! I bagged the cookies in clear cello and tied with green ribbons...so cute! I forgot to take a pic of the cookies before the baby parents left, so all I had left were girl cookies. (Congrats S family, and thanks for the order!)

Tiger Cookies
I got an order for "Tiger" cookies for a school reunion. I must admit this order really scared me. This was one of my biggest tests in cookie-making, but I finally figured a way to make it work. I was very pleased with the finished product! (Thanks for the order Pam!)

Misc. Cookies
This is just a platter of different cookie styles. Our church had a silent auction to raise money for children's camp. On a whim, I decided to offer up "6 months of cookies", where I would make 6 dozen cookies for the winning bidder. This tray of cookies was part of the auction (so the bidders could see and taste the cookies). I was pleased that the winning bid was well over $100. (Thanks B family!)
Cheer Cookies
Emily's cheer team had an end-of-the-year party at school. When the coach told me about the party, I asked if I could send in cookies. I made megaphone cookies with the girls' names on them, along with a giant cookie with the school mascot logo. I was pretty pleased with how these turned out.

Pencil Cookies
Pencil shaped cookies to celebrate the end of testing week at school. Didn't have a specific cookie cutter, but these were easy to hand-cut.
Birthday Cookies
A family friend knew I had started making cookies, and she told her mother that she wanted some of MY cookies for her birthday (how sweet!). I only knew that she liked bright blue, so I incorporated that into the cookie designs, and tried to make shapes that reminded me of her. Hope you had a great birthday Kate!
Zebra, Flower Cookies
My dh wanted to take some cookies to his assistant. He wasn't sure of what theme she would like best, so I just made some flower shapes, and my new fav...zebra cookies.
Scrapbooking Cookies?
I needed a potluck item for our church's scrapbooking crop, so I decided to take cookies! (surprise, surprise) I tried out some new designs and techniques. Can you tell the crop was held the week before Easter? This cookie stuff is getting really fun!
Music Notes
My daughter was in the school choir, and they had an end of the year party. My contribution was some music note cookies. I was still a little shaky with my icing, but the kids didn't seem to mind.
Cowboy Cookies
This was my very FIRST try at making custom cookies. I didn't have a horse or boot cookie cutter, so I hand cut those shapes with a paring knife. I also didn't have the right food colorings, so I just used what I had in the cabinet...yeah, the horses looked a little "pinkish", but I thought they were a good contrast. (at least that's what I kept telling everyone!). I have since acquired a FEW more cookie cutters (including horse and boot!), plus lots of new food coloring! :-)

New Blog
As if I *needed* something else to do, it seems I have stumbled upon a new hobby...making custom decorated cookies! ;-) I was searching for goody bag ideas for my son's birthday party, and saw some really cute cookies. Having decorated cakes when I was MUCH younger, I decided to try my hand at making some cookies for Max's party. I've been bitten by the cookie bug and have been making a batch practically every week since! I'm posting a few pics on this blog so family/friends can see them.
